This project is and attempts to find out the carbon sequestration by vegetation area. Its main focus is to compute the range of carbon sequestration in the local vegetation area like paddy, sugarcane and perennial crops like cashew and mango. The amount of carbon sequestration in those areas is calculated by analyzing vegetation imageries received through the LANDSAT. Carbon sequestration pattern is analyzed using NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetative Index) equation. In LANDSAT imaginary, the vegetation areas are represented by different colors patterns pertained to the Greenness of the area where carbon sequestration takes place and vary in biomass production. The NDVI data obtained from LANDSAT imaginary using ERDAS software is trained using SVM (Support Vector Machine) for pattern classification and carbon value is calculated, if the carbon value is found high amount of carbon sequestered is high which will be very useful to minimize global warming. We provide full assistance to all those students who have to prepare carbon sequestration projects but unaware about its process.
